iPhone Ultra Leaks Show New Design, Price, and Features

iPhone Ultra Foldable Leaks Show New Design

Apple is finally preparing to enter the foldable smartphone market, and its first device could arrive in September. According to recent leaks and analyst reports, the company’s first foldable iPhone may be called the iPhone Ultra, and it is expected to bring a completely new design along with several premium features. Previously, a leaker suggested it would be called Apple Fold or iPhone Fold, but now a fresh report says it will be called iPhone Ultra.

iPhone Ultra Rumored Design & Dimensions

The upcoming iPhone Ultra will feature a book-style folding design. Unlike most foldables currently available, like the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the device is rumored to be wider than it is tall when unfolded. It will include an outer display that looks shorter and wider, while the inner display could resemble the size and shape of an iPad mini. One of the biggest highlights is the expected crease-free inner display, which could be a major breakthrough for foldable smartphones.

In terms of build, Apple is likely to use a titanium frame, similar to its recent Pro models. The device is also expected to be ultra-thin when unfolded and may resemble two slim iPhones stacked together when folded. Reports suggest that Apple could limit color options to just black and white. Interestingly, rumors also claim the iPhone 18 series may not offer a black color option, which would be exclusive to the first Apple foldable device.

iPhone Ultra Screen Sizes

The iPhone Ultra outer screen may measure around 5.3 to 5.5 inches, while the inner foldable display could range between 7.6 and 7.8 inches. This setup will allow users to switch between a compact phone experience and a tablet-like interface. On the other hand, Samsung is reportedly launching its first wide foldable phone, the Galaxy Wide Fold, with nearly the same size.

It May Offer a Dual Rear Camera Setup

On the camera side, Apple may include a dual rear camera setup, featuring a 48MP main sensor and a 48MP ultra-wide lens. However, it may skip the telephoto lens found in Pro models. The device is also rumored to include two front-facing cameras, one for each display, likely using the same sensor introduced with the iPhone 17 series.

iOS 27 Software with Multitasking Features

Software will play a key role in this device. The iPhone Ultra is expected to run on iOS 27, which may introduce multitasking features like side-by-side apps and iPad-style layouts. While it won’t fully replace iPadOS, it will borrow several elements to enhance usability on the larger screen.

Under the hood, the device could be powered by the new A20 Pro chip, built on a 2nm process, along with Apple’s in-house C2 cellular modem. It is also predicted to include 12GB of RAM for improved performance in gaming and other tasks. Interestingly, Apple may bring back Touch ID instead of Face ID, integrating it into the power button due to space limitations. As for pricing, the iPhone Ultra could start at around $1,999, making it the most expensive iPhone ever.
